Our Lady of La Salette, Fundraiser Results, and Parish Pay

On the weekend of August 5th and 6th, St. Dominic Savio parish will be welcoming the Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette as our part in the annual Missionary Plan of Cooperation. Fr. Joby Muttathil, MS will represent La Salette missionaries who work in 27 different countries, especially among the poor in Angola, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Haiti, India, Madagascar, Myanmar and the Philippines.

Thank you for your patience as MSD does its work on our property to separate storm water from the sewer water system as mandated by the Federal government. Final numbers are in for our Annual Parish Dinner Auction, the Parish Golf Tournament, Trivia Nite and Parish Picnic. The net profit for each even is as follows:

  • Trivia Nite $6,024.92
  • Annual Dinner Auction $36,480.00*
  • Golf Tournament $10,196.41
  • Parish Picnic $5,049.66

Thanks to all the volunteers who worked so hard on their parish fund-raisers (especially the members of the fund-raising committee headed up by Karen Stolarski) and to the many parishioners who contributed in a variety of ways to their success. *Fourteen Thousand dollars was raised at the Dinner Auction for the organ.

As we begin a new fiscal year, I want everyone to know that the Sunday offertory has been trending downward for more than a decade, a reality for most Catholic parishes. It appears we may be down ten percent (10%) in Sunday offerings during the past fiscal year; final numbers are not in as of yet. I hope it is a consequence of the Beyond Sunday capital campaign, but the downward trend should be concerning to everyone. Some of our most substantial financial contributions come from our senior-aged parishioners and when we lose them it can have a significant (and negative) impact on our offertory. Each person’s contribution makes a difference and I am grateful for all of them because they help us accomplish our mission.

Many of you participate in our parish’s online giving program. Your generous giving is appreciated by so many and helps our parish carry on the work Jesus gave us. To help us maintain and grow this mission, our parish is in the process of transitioning from ParishPay to WeShare, a new online giving tool. WeShare makes it easier than ever for you to manage your online contributions and will save our parish time and money.

To make this transition as seamless as possible for those of you who participate in the online giving program and to ensure our records are up-to-date, we need a few minutes of your help. Please visit our parish website, click the ParishPay link, and log into your online giving account. Review your contact information, address, payment method, and current giving for accuracy. Make any necessary changes and that’s it. If you run into any issues accessing your account, please contact Customer Service at 1-800-950-9952, and select Option One. You can also contact Michelle Rusch in the parish office for additional help.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, pray for us!
